Purrfect Friends

We have some wonderful four-legged neighbors here at Gulf Gate, and we would like to introduce you to two adorable cats named Benjamin and Buttons. They both live with Heidi and Sheila, who have been residents at Gulf Gate Apartments since 2009.

Benjamin and Heidi

Benjamin is a huge cat weighing twenty-seven pounds He likes to sleep with Sheila. He looks so big that you could almost mistake him for a dog. However, he has been following a weight loss diet and so far he has lost one pound.

Buttons is almost as large as Benjamin, but unlike Benjamin, Buttons is a polydactyl cat! Most polydactyl cats (cats with more than five toes on a paw) have six toes on the front paws, but Buttons has six toes on all paws, making him extra special.

Heidi used to take Buttons to health care facilities where he would sit with the patients and calm them until he got too heavy. Studies show that cats’ purrs, depending on the frequency, can help in the healing of different parts of the human anatomy. Since polydactyl cats in particular are known for their good health and friendly personalities, Buttons was probably very good at his job! Who knows, perhaps Buttons one of the descendants of Earnest Hemingway’s polydactyl cat? Nearly 50 of the cat’s descendants live on Key West.

Mahalo! Thanks For Coming to the Luau!

We wanted to extend a big "Thank-You" to all of our wonderful residents who came out to our Resident Appreciation Luau last month. On August 24th we had a fun community gathering at our annual poolside party. We enjoyed the chance to see each of you and enjoy some great food catered by Nancy's Bar-B-Q. We value our residents and think that you are what makes Gulf Gate such a wonderful place to live. Thanks for coming to the Luau.

We always like to hear back from our current and former residents about their experience at Gulf Gate, it helps us keep track of how we are doing. We think Gulf Gate Apartments is a great place to live, and recently we've had some comments coming in confirm that. 

Here's a couple comments from our Former Resident Survey question: What did you like best about living at Gulf Gate Apartments?

Another former resident stated that the best part of their home here at Gulf Gate was the friends they had made. We try to bring our community together by having fun gatherings, and we're glad to see neighbors getting to know each other!

Another comment, this one from our New Resident Move-In Survey, a resident said in response to the question: What could we have done better to make your transition easier?

“CAN'T IMAGINE!” And then he suggested jokingly: "Bottle Dom Perignom in the fridge, Roses on the Table, and chocolates on the pillow." We've duly noted the suggestion - and we're glad his move-in went so well!

We strive to go "Beyond the Expected" here at Gulf Gate Apartments and we're thankful for the great feedback from our current and former residents.

Congrats, Chester - Meet Our Early Bird Winner!

Congratulations to Chester, he is the winner of our Early Bird Drawing for September! We do this drawing every month and you have a chance to be the winner if you pay your rent on or before the 1st of the month. Everyone who pays their rent on or before the 1st of the month can put their name into the Early Bird Drawing. Out of all the entries a random name is selected and the lucky winner gets $50 off of rent for the following month.
