Early Bird Winner Enjoying $50 Rent Discount Next Month

Congratulations to Lee, he is the winner of our Early Bird Drawing this month! Lee has been a resident at Gulf Gate for five years and we enjoy having him here! We do this drawing every month and you have a chance to be the winner if you pay your rent on or before the 1st of the month. Everyone who pays their rent on or before the 1st of the month gets their name put into the Early Bird Drawing. Out of that pool of entrants a random name is selected and the lucky winner gets $50 off of rent for the following month.

So when October’s rent comes around don't forget the Early Bird Drawing and get your rent payment in early. We all know what the Early Bird gets... that's right, a chance to get $50 off of rent the next month!

Have You Met Our New Leasing Agent?

We're very excited to announce that we have a new leasing agent, Patti, at Gulf Gate! Patti will be working in the office on Saturdays with Vanessa. 

Patti was born in Parma, Ohio and moved to the Bradenton/Sarasota area when she was 15. She graduated from the State College of Florida with an Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal Studies. She loves scrap-booking and has two wonderful children, Sabrina and DJ. 

We are so glad to have her as a new staff member. She is bright and cheery - be sure you stop by to meet her! If you see her around Gulf Gate please join us in giving her a warm Gulf Gate welcome.

Happy Birthday, Val!

Recently one of our staff celebrated a birthday. Val, our housekeeper in the C building, turned 49 on August 15th. It's a little belated, but if you see her around wish her a happy birthday anyway! Congratulations, Val!  To celebrate the staff had a little get together with pizza. As you'll see from the photo below, Val was quite happy!

Hello Hali!

Hali Has ARRIVED! Hali is the newborn daughter of Heather, one of our Gulf Gate caretakers, and we can't wait to meet her. She was born on August 26, 2012 and we'll post the first picture ever taken of her below. Join us in congratulating Heather on the birth of her daughter!

It's Always Good To Be Prepared!

With hurricane season in full swing it's good to always be prepared. Our recent near miss with Hurricane Isaac gives a good opportunity to review how prepared you are should a storm hit our area. Baby Shower Held At Gulf Gate Clubhouse

Last week Heather got some help preparing for the arrival of her baby with a baby shower in the Gulf Gate clubhouse. The shower was attended by a mix of Heather's family, friends, and fellow Gulf Gate co-workers. You may recall, we recently posted a feature about Heather here on this blog. 

Heather is planning to name her daughter Hali, which means 'sea' in Greek. Check out a few photos from the baby shower below.

Three Cheers For Fun Month!

August is a month for fun, really! August is National Family Fun Month. What are you going to do this month for fun? Here you can find some other fun holidays in August and we’ll share some suggestions for family fun this month.

August 3rd –Watermelon Day 
Watermelon Lime Frosty (or Margarita) makes 2
3 cups watermelon, cubed and frozen
1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
2 tablespoons agave nectar or maple syrup
Zest from 2 limes
Juice from 2 limes (about 4 tablespoons)
1/2 cup water

Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more water as needed to keep the mixture moving. For margaritas: add 3-4 shots of silver tequila. You may want to add more watermelon than called for to thicken this up, or to make the drink appear more pink.

August 10th –S’mores Day
Did you know you can make S’mores in the oven? Just take a baking sheet, line with foil, assemble s’mores without the top graham cracker and bake until marshmallows are soft and chocolate starts to melt (you have to watch these closely it doesn’t take long at all) then just take out of the oven, top with the other graham cracker and enjoy!

August 31st –Trail Mix Day 
Plan a little fun activity with the kids or even a small family get-together and have a trail mix bar. Everyone brings their own container to take home and they can create their own trail mix wither they want to indulge in the sweets or get a nice variety of healthy nuts and seeds to start their diet off right.
