First, discover new stars by attending the preliminary rounds of Sarasota's own version of "You've Got Talent". All talent ranges welcome, featuring youth, teen, adults, and groups of any size or age. You can pick up your applications at the Julie Rohr Academy, 4466 Fruitville Road. Application fees are $24 for individuals and $50 for groups. The preliminaries are Saturday from 9:00 AM. - 5:00 PM at Plymouth harbor, 700 John Ringling Blvd, Sarasota. Or how about a more laid back event where you can get to know some old stars with Sidewalk Astronomy? Telescopes will be up and available for public viewing from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, courtesy of the local group, Deep Sky Observers. This event will be held on 5801 Marina Drive, just north of the Holmes Beach City Hall on Anna Maria Island.
